Source available terms

rusty is source-available under the iResolved Source Available License — not OSI “open source.” You may view, run, and modify under the conditions of the license; many common open-source freedoms do not apply.

Natural persons and small entities may use, modify, and run the Software for personal, educational, or internal business purposes (including limited production), subject to restricted uses and AI rules.

• Small entity: ≤10 employees or <$2M USD annual revenue
• 180-day growth grace period if you exceed thresholds
• No Competitive Offering; still bound by §§3, 4, and 6

Without a separate commercial license you must not use the Software to build competitive or functionally equivalent offerings, or publish benchmarks/comparisons of the Software without Licensor consent.

• No Functionally Equivalent software built from exposure to the Software
• No publishing benchmarks/comparisons without prior written consent
• This marketing site’s qualitative compare is Licensor-authored product marketing

Prohibited AI Use includes training, fine-tuning, embeddings, distillation, and similar consumption of the Software by AI systems, except a narrow ephemeral-assist exception when all §4.2 conditions are met.

Without a commercial license you must not distribute, convey, sell, or make the Software available to third parties — including public repo hosting, SaaS of the Software, API access, or binary redistribution.

The license includes records, annual certification on request, incident notice, and limited audit cooperation. On-device logs support compliance verification — summarize fully only in the license text.

After the Change Date (four years from first availability of that version under this license), that version converts to AGPL-3.0-or-later automatically. Read §7 for details.

Your Workspaces — projects and data you manage by running a production binary — are not subject to the Software license. The Software itself remains fully governed by the license.
